SUNDAY SERVICE READINGS: “Happy are the pure in heart: they shall see God.” Our vision of God can be clouded by many things which distract us from doing what Jesus has called us to do: to follow him and to grow in the knowledge and love of God. Today we celebrate the lives of those who lived with pure hearts in a world of corruption and sin. Now they see God face to face. This is the destiny of all who follow Christ in simplicity of heart and in faith. Collect Almighty ever-living God, by whose gift we venerate in one celebration the merits of all the Saints, bestow on us, we pray, through the prayers of so many intercessors, an abundance of the reconciliation with you for which we earnestly long. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. First Reading: Apocalypse 7:2-4. 9-14 Responsorial Psalm: 23 Such are the men who seek your face O Lord. Second Reading: 1 John 3:1-3 Gospel: Matthew 5:1-12 |
